Did
you came across the mountains to Pollfoss, than you are almost there.
This is what thy
said
in Nordfjord to the people who travelled to Skjåk. The road over the
mountain was
the
only one and was no more than a path formed by animals and a few people.
They ware
the
first who build soma kind of a road.

Pollfoss
lies still in the middle of nature 20 kms. Outside of Skjåk beside the
road nr. 15.
But
has today a different and better accommodation. Pollfoss Gjestehus
stayed loyal to
the
rich and old traditions. In the old main building are lots of old and
nice tools and other
things
exhibitioned, like old carriages, postbags, sledges and so on. The whole
combination
take
care of a warm and cosy atmosphere. We like to show the tradition and
history of
this
hotel.
In
our kitchen we use Norwegian basic products to make local speciality’s.
The Skjåkauren
(Mountain
trout) is well known in this region, and moose meat is often on the
menu.
The
noise of the waterfall takes care of the right atmosphere during your
meal.
